About Roel

Roel Mangiliman is a certified second degree Reiki practitioner who began his studies with the San Francisco Reiki Center in 2022. Roel also practices Hilot, an indigenous Filipino healing art that balances natural elements within the body using massage, herbs, and divination. In 2024, Roel completed an intensive 6-month continuing education program with the SF Reiki Center, including 175+ practice hours.

Roel practices in the discipline of Usui Shiki Ryoho, following the standards of Hawayo Takata, who introduced the West to Reiki. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Roel is a management consultant, trained lawyer, and member of the LGBT community.

Since beginning his practice, Roel has been impressed with Reiki’s mysteriously positive impact on the mind-body connection. Skeptical of Reiki for many years, Roel decided to try it in 2022 after years of meditating and wanting to explore other forms of spirituality. In his first treatments Roel felt grounded and relaxed, much less stressed. But overtime as he continued with Reiki - he also noticed his chronic pain improve, his intuition grew stronger, and he became a less anxious person overall.

Roel views Reiki as a holistic health modality that complements Western medicine. Reiki aids mental, emotional and physical healing in a manner that is always safe, gentle, and tailored to one’s situation.

Roel offers Reiki treatments for those who are curious to try it (even if slightly skeptical), as well as regular clients seeking healing and well-being support.
